Living on the Outskirts

This was a really good article in that it highlights the contradictions between something that directly addresses an immediate need, and the way the government / other institutions in place respond. The mini-structures Khaleel Seivwright built are excellent at addressing an urgent need, but also not an adequate response for the long term (people started fires in them and that took someone's life). It seems like what is needed is more housing (duh), which is slow to procure, but governments need to take the problem of lack of housing much more seriously because it regularly leads to death and despair.
